And that should include a forward-thinking strategy for national labor that is reviewed every 10 years at least and adjusted.ZoomKellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00426571422095079573noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5291932098373797963.post-16131527866826966092016-12-11T02:01:23.236+09:002016-12-11T02:01:23.236+09:00You can be a master in your subject matter and sti...You can be a master in your subject matter and still do not know how to teach the subject. You cannot teach what you know, if you do not know how to teach. Subject mastery is important but is not primary over instructional methodologies, classroom management, and curriculum planning. Have you not sat in a class where the professor is a master in his or her field but cannot relay the information and concept in an comprehensible and manageable instruction and facilitation? Public educators can have various degrees and multiple publications on a given subject but still be incompetent in teaching that subject.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08910749979426429806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5291932098373797963.post-10714248197196485782016-10-22T04:13:40.073+09:002016-10-22T04:13:40.073+09:00Lúcia, perhaps, you should read the topics (for ex...Lúcia, perhaps, you should read the topics (for example,Shadow Education). Couldn't disagree more.
Lúcia da Silvahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12342828527367179621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5291932098373797963.post-36038235419331054912016-10-18T01:35:02.468+09:002016-10-18T01:35:02.468+09:00My summary would be that education "research&...My summary would be that education "research" is usually garbage. Although peer-reviewed, the reviewers are deeply invested in the myth of the moment, not objective assessment. One area where US education does need to emulate what other countries do is select for subject matter competence in the areas being certified. Ed classes are worthless but are required because of the belief that a good teacher can teach anything. I prefer the old bromide: You can't teach what you don't know.
Wayne Bishophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06572254540248429795noreply@blogger.com
